Does anyone know about the parking meters in the vicinity of 1800 Market St.? I%26#39;m planning on arriving in Philadelphia after ten on a Saturday night, and will be leaving on Sunday. Are the meters not enforced on Saturday night/Sunday?
Thanks,
Dave

Every block is different, and it even varies from one side of the street to the other. You will need to read the signs, make sure you don%26#39;t go over the time limit, and that you put enough in the meter to take you to the end time. And all this is assuming you can find a spot, and the odds are not in your favor. The parking rules can be tricky, so here is an example:
Sign says 2 Hour Parking, 10am-10pm Mon-Sun
If you arrive after 10pm, you can park for free until 10 am, at which point there must be money in the meter to take you to noon, at which point you must move your car or you will get a ticket.
If you arrive at 8PM, you have to put in money to take you to 10PM, and then you have till 10am, etc as above.
If you arrive at 7:45PM, you have to put in money to take you to 9:45PM at which point you must move your car, or you WILL get a ticket.
BTW, ';move your car'; means that you need to take it to a different block, not just another spot on the same block.

Thank you for the detailed response. I understand all that you%26#39;re saying, I was just hoping that someone would know whether parking is free on Sunday in that area (especially since it%26#39;s in the business district and is likely to be relatively quiet on Sunday).
Thanks,
Dave
It was free until recently. They have been changing the signs bit by bit, so you need to check the signs.
OK, thanks for the help. I will be checking the signs very carefully.

Parking in the area of Market St./JFK was free after either 8 or 10 PM on Saturday and all day Sunday. I moved my car out of the garage on Saturday night and parked for free that night and for part of the day Sunday. Found a spot at 19th and JFK, although there weren%26#39;t too many open ones, even at 11 at night.
Thanks for your help.
Dave
