Crayola Factory, Dorney Park, Sesame Place?

We%26#39;ll be in Hershey next Tuesday, but beforehand, must be in the Doylestown are for two days. We have two kids, 7 and 9. I%26#39;m looking at things to do in the area to fill the time for them. I see Dorney Park, Sesame Place, and the Crayola Factory are all within 45 minutes or so of Doylestown, but don%26#39;t know if they are too old for Sesame Place and the Crayola Factory.

We%26#39;d like to avoid the chaos of Philly.

I%26#39;m grateful for any suggestions!

Crayola Factory, Dorney Park, Sesame Place?

I remember taking a tour of the Crayola Factory when I was about 10. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I don%26#39;t know if they still do that, but if they do, it%26#39;s totally worth your time. Sesame Place I did around the same time (Summer Day Camp...) and I thought it was kind of lame, wasn%26#39;t impressed, even as a kid. But the Crayola Factory is where it%26#39;s at.

Crayola Factory, Dorney Park, Sesame Place?

Oh. I just did a search for the Crayola Factory online. (A little Nostalgia...) And they say it%26#39;s not the factory anymore. Sad...

Still looks like fun. And they say they DO tell you how they%26#39;re made. Maybe it is the same thing and I was duped into thinking we were at the real factory...

The Crayola factory (right, not really a factory) is lots of fun for kids under 12. There%26#39;s a chance to play with clay magic, my very favorite crayola product. Very close to it is the canal ride http://www.canals.org/ I haven%26#39;t done this but it looks like fun!

Dorney Park is also great. You can get get adult discount tickets for $28.75 at local Weis-Kings stores. If you are coming up from Doylestown you%26#39;ll see one on route 309 in Coopersburg on the way. Kids tickets are also sold there, not at any discount ($18), but you wouldn%26#39;t have to wait in line once you get there.

While Sesame has some good slides for older kids, they would be surrounded by toddlers and pre-schoolers. I don%26#39;t think it would be worth it unless you are taking a younger one with you. Part of the enjoyment of that park, for us, was seeing the boys light up when Elmo and the gang were around.

The Crayola factory is just a place with opportunities to play with crayola products. It is great if you have ';artsy'; kids.

I haven%26#39;t been to Dorney but passed it several times. Looks like fun and more age appropriate.

Sesame Place is awesome but I believe your children are past the age to appreciate it--we took our daughters when they were 2 and 5 and they loved it but its really geared toward preschoolers and toddlers. I recommend Dutch Wanderland instead or take them on a train ride at the Strausburg Railroad.

We took 10 kids ages 2 - 13 to the crayola factory. There is a clear cut off where it is fun versus ';the worst thing in the world you could have done to me mom!'; I%26#39;d say it is around age 10 or 11.

Personally, I thought it was a giant advertisement for Crayola products. The crayola factory (no its not a factory) is a place we might stop by if we were already in Easton. I didn%26#39;t need to drive two hours for my kids to play with the same stuff they have at home. The crayola factory is not in the same league with Sesame Place or Dorney Park. You could spend the entire day at SP or DP, with girls 7 %26amp; 9 - you won%26#39;t need more than 2 hours (if that) at the CF.

my girls are 12 and 10...we still do sesame, crayola and dorney every summer!!...they still enjoy them!!
