Well, I just completed my first and LAST transaction with Priceline. I wanted a 2.5 star hotel and started bidding and ended up with this place, which they say is 3 star and that they *upgraded* me (ummm I didn%26#39;t ask to be upgraded), and I that should be happy! Most of the reviews on Priceline%26#39;s website for this place are BAD (the main reason why I chose 2.5 instead of 3 stars when trying to name my own price).
My trip is next weekend (8/15-8/17). Can anyone out there provide some honest information about this place? Is the area really that bad? I am traveling with my husband and 2 sons, ages 6 %26amp; 9. We are going to the NHRA qualifying races in Reading on Friday then on to Dorney Park on Saturday (staying at ths place both nights).
Should I book somewhere else? I know, I paid for it, but I am worried. Thanks in advance.

I%26#39;m a local. The hotel itself is fine and the immediate area around it will be safe enough, but you should have either gone with the hotels right across from Dorney or maybe the Hotel Bethlehem in Bethlehem - 10 minutes east.
Since you%26#39;ve already paid for it, I would probably just stay there and enjoy the hotel. It sounds like you have full days ahead of you so it%26#39;s not as if you would have much time walking around anyway.

Thank you, toobusy. I guess we%26#39;ll go and hope for the best. I won%26#39;t use priceline again because I would not have picked this hotel. The 2.5 star places looked very nice and got good reviews here on TripAdvisor. Live and learn! Thanks again for your reply.
Just wanted to update my post - I stayed there this past weekend. The hotel wasn%26#39;t as bad as the last review made it out to be. Yes, it is under construction. It is also in the center of the city. I did not see anything sketchy going on in or around the hotel. Would I stay there again? Maybe, if in the area, if the price is right and once renovations are complete.
